Conditions & Issues I Treat

EMDR 2.0 is highly effective for trauma-related conditions and challenges rooted in difficult life experiences.

PTSD & Complex Trauma

Whether you experienced a single traumatic event or prolonged, repeated trauma, EMDR 2.0 can help you process these experiences and reclaim your life.

Some experiences may be:

  • Childhood abuse or neglect (complex PTSD)
  • Domestic violence or intimate partner trauma
  • Motor vehicle accidents
  • Assault or violent crime
  • Military or first responder trauma
  • Medical trauma or traumatic childbirth

Common presentation of PTSD includes symptoms such as:

  • Intrusive memories, flashbacks, or nightmares
  • Hypervigilance and exaggerated startle response
  • Avoidance of trauma reminders
  • Emotional numbness or detachment

Complex PTSD is often characterized by difficulties in emotion regulation, a distorted sense of self (shame, worthlessness), and relationship problems, alongside core PTSD symptoms like re-experiencing, avoidance, and hyperarousal.

Anxiety & Depression

Anxiety and depression often have roots in unresolved traumatic experiences. EMDR 2.0 addresses the underlying memories fueling these symptoms.

I can help with:

  • Generalized anxiety disorder
  • Panic attacks and panic disorder
  • Social anxiety and phobias
  • Persistent depressive symptoms
  • Trauma-related mood disorders
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Overwhelming worry or rumination

Workplace Stress, Burnout & Professional Trauma

Healthcare workers, first responders, educators, and other professionals face unique occupational stressors and traumatic exposures.

Specialized support for:

  • Secondary/vicarious trauma
  • Compassion fatigue and burnout
  • Critical incident stress
  • Workplace bullying or harassment
  • Performance anxiety
  • Moral injury from difficult decisions
  • Return-to-work challenges after trauma

Relationship Issues

Heal attachment wounds, trust issues, and relational patterns rooted in past experiences and developmental trauma. Address infidelity trauma, divorce recovery, and intimacy challenges.

Addiction Recovery

Process underlying trauma fueling addictive behaviors. EMDR complements addiction treatment by addressing root causes rather than just symptoms.

Grief & Loss

Navigate complicated grief, traumatic loss, and bereavement. Process sudden deaths, loss of loved ones, and unresolved mourning.

Performance Optimization

Remove psychological blocks limiting peak performance in sports, arts, business, or academics. Build confidence and mental resilience.

Life Transitions

Navigate major changes like career shifts, relocation, divorce, empty nest, or retirement with resilience and clarity.

Cultural & Historical Trauma

Address intergenerational trauma, cultural oppression, residential school impacts, and systemic discrimination affecting Indigenous and marginalized communities.

Chronic Pain & Illness

Process trauma associated with chronic health conditions, medical procedures, and the psychological impact of living with pain or illness.

Sleep Disturbances

Address nightmares, insomnia, and sleep disruptions rooted in trauma or hypervigilance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does EMDR 2.0 treatment take?

Most clients experience significant relief in 6-12 sessions for single-incident trauma. Complex trauma or multiple targets may require 12-20+ sessions. During our initial assessment, I'll provide a personalized estimate.

Is EMDR 2.0 more intense than regular EMDR?

EMDR 2.0 deliberately increases memory activation, which can feel more intense during processing. However, this intensity is carefully controlled, and the benefit is faster relief. You remain in control and can adjust the pace as needed.

Do I need to talk in detail about my trauma?

No. You'll need to identify the target memory and its emotional charge, but you don't need to describe the trauma in detail. EMDR works by helping your brain reprocess the memory—talking through every detail isn't necessary.

Will I be "cured" after EMDR therapy?

EMDR 2.0 can significantly reduce or eliminate trauma symptoms for many clients. Research shows 85-90% symptom reduction for single-trauma PTSD. However, healing is a journey, and some clients may benefit from ongoing support for complex issues.

Is remote EMDR as effective as in-person?

Yes. Research demonstrates telehealth EMDR is equally effective as in-person treatment. I use secure, encrypted platforms and have adapted techniques specifically for remote delivery to ensure excellent outcomes.
